Youth Leadership Institute seeks dynamic, youth focused, creative professionals who are committed to youth-adult partnerships for social change and high quality community-based programs. These positions are opportunities to use expertise to support youth-driven work in the Central Valley.

Senior Director of Programs

The Position: The Senior Director of Programs (SDP) is responsible for providing high-quality content, guidance, coaching and management leadership for YLI’s community-based programs in Fresno County. The SDP must demonstrate deep experience in managing and leading a team to implement high-impact programs at a community level. Strong “best and effective practices” content knowledge in health promotion and issue-based prevention, rooted in positive youth and community development strategies, is essential. This leader must offer expertise and value in public policy, community organizing, and systemic change affecting the availability of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in the lives of youth and their communities. The SDP is also responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with existing contracts and Institute standards. The SDP supervises and leads program staff, and assists with resource development in partnership with the Vice President and the Institute’s Leadership and Executive teams. Executive Operations and Programs Assistant

This position is perfect for a creative professional who is committed to functional systems development, youth development and social justice. This is an opportunity to use your operational and administrative expertise to support youth development in the Central Valley.

Focus of the position:
The Executive Operations and Programs Assistant is responsible for the provision of high quality operations management as well as administrative support for the Vice President and community based program staff. The Executive Operations and Programs Assistant will meet these goals through the implementation and maintenance of office systems and functions. This position will require an individual committed to ongoing learning with the ability to balance multiple projects. The Executive Operations and Program Assistant will promote and use a team approach in support of the VP as well as community based program staff. This position works under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Community Based Programs, Central Valley.

Science Educator

The Discovery Center a children’s Science and Nature Park has two open educator positions. Our mission is to offer children an outdoor hands-on learning experience that stimulates passion, curiosity and wonder for the enviroment and physical sciences.

As a science educator you will be teaching science to children in grades K-6. We are looking for educators that have a psssion for science and good presentaion skills. This position has the potential to expand into a fulltime educational director.
