General Description:
Valley Public Television is seeking a seasoned marketing/public relations professional for this full time, Senior Management position. The stages of managing these functions include developing a Media Plan, web site oversight, planning and direction, internal and external image positioning, building and stewarding media relationships, buying advertising, press release/copy/proof writing, creative design, implementation, reporting
and monitoring results, and upon completion, developing improvement strategies.
Essential Functions
- Enhance already positive internal and external image
- Control branding and design
- Copy writing and proofing of all image related materials
- Publish monthly program guide, Preview
- Write press releases and schedule media buys
- Build relationships with local media
- Oversee web development
- Support the marketing needs of various departments
- Apply for PBS Ad Grants, fulfill deliverables and provide necessary reporting
- All other duties as assigned by President & CEO.

- Work cooperatively toward fulfillment of the station’s mission, goals and objectives
- Cooperative and professional attitude with staff, customers, volunteers and vendors
- Work in alignment with the VP of Programming/Communications and Production Director
- Timely and accurate completion of all assigned responsibilities and reports
- Timely and appropriate communication with management
- Consistent dependability in attendance and effective utilization of time
- Protect confidential information.
Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and/or equivalent marketing experience
- Graphic design capability a plus
- Occasional long and unusual hours
- Must have the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and be project oriented
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases
- Proficient and efficient usage of software provided to complete job responsibilities.
